The Liturgy of the Hours

The Liturgy of the Hours is the official prayer of the Catholic Church.  We pray it in order to sanctify time and to imitate Christ.  The Liturgy of the hours consists of different prayers which are prayed at different times.  Morning Prayer is prayed in the morning.  Daytime Prayer is prayed at 12 noon or as close to noon as possible.  Evening Prayer is prayed after 4 pm.  Night Prayer is prayed at night and Office of Readings is prayed at anytime.  The Liturgy of the Hours is made up of the psalms, scripture and other readings.  Jesus prayed the psalms which is why we immitate Jesus when we pray the Liturgy of the Hours.  Since we pray at different times of the day not only are we sanctifying time but we are also following the command of Our Lord to pray without ceasing.  Join me to pray live in Spanish every night at 10pm at https://www.fatherrosadotv.com  You can also pray at ibreviary.com and ebreviary.com
